THE operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have raided the Lagos base of a high-profile cocaine syndicate headed by a couple: Agbakoba John Mmadu, and Agbakoba Ijeoma Chinwe as well as their associate, Okoye Ifeoma Maryjane However,during the operation ,. a large consignments of the class A drug meant for export and local distribution were recovered. KANO state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf,has declared Monday, July 8, 2024 as public holiday in comumeration of the beginning of new Islamic calendar 1446 AH. Kano state government has concluded arrangement to complete the abandoned five kilometers rural road project commissioned across the 44 local government areas of the state. THE Bayero University Kano( BUK) has indicated its readiness to work with Kano State Government in solving the education crisis facing the state. THE Chairman of the Dangote Group,Aliko Dangote, has raised his opposition, on the Central Bank of Nigeria’s nearly 30 percent interest rate, urging the government to back established companies. Making this known at a Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) summit in Abuja, Dangote warned, “Nobody can create jobs with an interest rate of 30%. No growth will happen.” He then emphasized the need for affordable financing and protection of domestic industries, citing that import dependence leads to poverty and job loss.
