The Northern Lawyers’ Forum, a group of lawyers from Northern Nigeria, has given Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano 48 hours to rescind the reinstatement of Emir Muhammad Sanusi II or face a fresh legal battle. According to the lawyers, led by Barr. Umar Sadiq Abubakar, argued that Emir Sanusi’s reinstatement is “unconstitutional” and “contrary to the traditions and customs of the Kano Emirate.” Making the assertion at a press briefing on Tuesday in Abuja, Abubakar, who is the Director General of the forum, claimed that Emir Sanusi’s initial removal was in line with the laws and traditions of the emirate. The Dangote Oil Refinery, a $20 billion mega project, has said that the company,is set to hit a production capacity of 500,000 barrels per day by July 2024, with plans to expand to 650,000 barrels by year’s end. Kogi Central Journalists’ Guild, an umbrella body of Kogi Central journalists in the diaspora, has called for equal representation in Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s media team. The guild  made their displeasure known in a statement signed by its president, Muhammad Tijani Abdulsalam, and secretary Ozumi Abdul a copy made available to press in Kano. The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) has launched a new program aimed at empowering young girls in Kano State with robotics and coding skills.
