A chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano state, Alhaji (Dr) Ilyasu Musa Kwankwaso has called on politicians in the state, to be fair enough, to also commend achievements made in the recent fight against insecurity in the country.

This was just as he added that since politicians always criticise and berated government’ s action they perceived not in tandem with their yearnings and aspirations, they should also commends government on laudable progress recorded while  fighting this menace

Kwankwaso, who was a former three time commissioner for rural and community development in Kano state, made this assertion on Friday in an interactive session with press while enumerating achievements on the fight against terrorism in Sokoto and Zamfara states.

He emphasized  that it is not fair of the leading politicians to only be condemning the current administration of president Bola Tinubu, accusing it of incompetence in the fight against terrorism but will not come out to commend it when achievements are made in the process.

Kwankwaso therefore  explained that with the efforts and commitments of the state minister for defense, Bello Matawalle, who has since relocated to Sokoto, a lot has been achieved in the fight against terrorists.

He however stated that there are routs across the state that people have started plying recently that were initially deserted for the past eight years in the state due to insecurity.

“There are a lot of successes being achieved in the fight against terrorism in parts of Sokoto, but you will never hear those big politicians mention it and commending the Federal government on it

He disclosed that as at now
“The president had directed the state minister for defense Bello Matawalle to ensure militarization of all the danger areas in the state. This is an achievement.

“They are creating military bases at places like Gundumi which will be patrolling Gundumi – Marnona road which had remained closed for good eight years. Is this not an achievement?

“It is clear that president Tinubu is concerned about the problem of insecurity in the north and is working to proffer solution to it. The elders in the north and the politicians should come out and support these efforts of mr President.

“Just yesterday the minister of state for defense, Bello Matawalle issued a warning to the bandits and their informants to surrender or face the wrath of the authority.

“He has been going round the affected areas in Isa and Sabon Birni local governments of Sokoto state and had even launched the “Operation Fansan Yamma” to disperse the terrorists in those areas” Kwankwaso stated.

He further called on state governors to properly utilize the funds released to them by the president which are monies from the withdrawal of subsidy.

He explained that if the governors properly utilize the funds, it will alleviate the sufferings of the people and life will be easier for all in the country.

He finally commended the Vice President Kashim Shetima for maintaining the position of his principal and ensuring that the goal of eliminating the terrorists is achieved.
