Making this known on Thursday in Kano,on the International Ombuds Day 2024 organized by the Kano Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission with a Theme “Here To Hear You” the Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado, said the calls is nothing but a misdirected attacks on a critical agency helping the Nation
He said it’s agency and as it’s boss
“We don’t support the idea of the calls for the scrapping of the EFCC, the more Anti Graft Agencies are the more the fight be better for the Country, and some private issues yes can be handled by the sub States Anti Graft offices, like ours”,
Accordingly” Nigeria needs to move forward in terms of services delivery and if there is anything the country, urgently needed, is not the calls for the scrapping of any anti graft office.
Barrister Muhyi, then added that just last week I recovered N30million through mediation and we even paid for some expanses, this clearly tells you that the Country needs this kind of Sub States anti graft agencies to support EFCC and others.
He therefore disclosed that ” When
I came to the office in 2015 I met only 30 cases.”
“But today we have 1300 cases out of which about 60 per cent have been duly prosecuted and 30 per cent are outstanding

He said some things are Ombuds but could only be handled by EFCC and or Police..
While speaking at the occasion,
Musa Auyo Commissioner 1 Jigawa State Anti Corruption Commission, said they are proud to be the pioneer Exco of the Commission, commending Kano Commission for setting Jigawa Commission running on 15 February 2022.
“We have tried to establish relationship and we were able over time to renders their Courts and Police Stations inactive because People believes more in Us while the procedures in the Courts and Police are so tedious snd one will even get tied before getting justice.
He added that there major headaches are on land issues and other criminal activities, and protecting Government grazing lands, and they also deep their hands on recovering Government Housing projects which were given out but not been paid, already they have recovered Millions of Naira to the Government
