A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has declared that the North-West has resolved to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Kwankwaso said the region had made its choice ahead of the 2027 presidential election, expressing confidence that Tinubu would secure a second term in office.

He spoke following the massive turnout and endorsement of the President at the formal kick-off of the APC presidential campaign in Kaduna, which he described as a clear demonstration of northern support for Tinubu.

Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of the VIP Pavilion at the event, Kwankwaso said the gathering had dispelled doubts about the political direction of the North ahead of the forthcoming election.

“Today, we of the North-West geopolitical zone have spoken loud and clear on who we stand for. Our choice of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains our commitment to a better Nigeria and national cohesion,” he said.

He maintained that the significance of the Kaduna rally went beyond political mobilisation, arguing that it had sent a strong message to other geopolitical zones about the need to support Tinubu’s administration.

According to him, the President’s leadership offers an opportunity to promote equitable development and ensure the fair distribution of national resources across the six geopolitical zones.

“Tinubu’s presidency stands for fair and equitable distribution of resources to all zones, and his return will be a blessing to the greater Nigeria of our dream,” Kwankwaso said.

The APC chieftain dismissed suggestions that northern support for Tinubu was merely transactional, insisting that the region was committed to honouring its political obligations and maintaining unity behind the President.

“Asiwaju is the northern candidate, and he will not promote anything outside his ambition because we are trustworthy people, and we shall deliver him come 2027,” he declared.

Kwankwaso urged Nigerians, particularly political stakeholders across the country, to view the growing support for Tinubu from the perspective of national unity and collective progress rather than narrow political interests.

He said the Kaduna rally demonstrated the North-West’s readiness to mobilise support for the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.
