PalmPay Ltd Launches Anti-Fraud Campaign in Kano, Urges Users to Stay Vigilant

PalmPay Limited has launched a major anti-fraud awareness campaign in Kano aimed at strengthening the safety of its financial services and protecting customers from online scams.

This was just as the company said the company currently has more than two million ATM cards nationwide, which customers can use for withdrawals and deposits across commercial bank ATMs.

Speaking during the campaign on Tuesday, the Managing Director of PalmPay Limited, Mr. Chika Nwosu, said the initiative was designed to build a “very healthy financial ecosystem” and eliminate fraudulent activities targeting users of the platform.

He said the company was increasingly concerned about the tactics used by fraudsters to deceive unsuspecting customers, stressing that the awareness drive would help users identify and avoid suspicious activities.

“Our goal is to ensure that nobody using PalmPay becomes a victim of fraud. That is why we are here today—educating our customers and the public,” Nwosu said

Nwosu warned users to stay alert, particularly against unfamiliar links sent via social media or SMS, advising them to always verify such links before clicking.

“Any link you don’t trust, don’t click,” he cautioned. “And no staff will call you asking for your personal information or request that you send money. If anyone does that, don’t respond. Instead, contact our customer care line directly.”

He encouraged customers to promptly report any suspicious activity and maintain open communication with the company’s support team.

The managing director also highlighted PalmPay’s growing presence across the country, revealing that the company currently has more than two million ATM cards nationwide, which customers can use for withdrawals and deposits across commercial bank ATMs.

“We have our teams all over Nigeria. Customers can walk into any commercial bank ATM to withdraw or deposit using our cards,” he stated.

Responding to concerns about occasional fraud-related complaints on the platform, Nwosu admitted that while cases had reduced significantly, the company would not relent until it eradicates fraud completely.

“Our objective is to eliminate it totally. It is going down, but we are working to bring it to zero level,” he assured.

PalmPay Limited says the anti-fraud sensitization campaign will continue across other states as part of its commitment to protecting users and improving digital financial security nationwide.
