The Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, CN DY Lawal, on Thursday received the Executive Director of the League for Societal Protection Against Drug Abuse (LESPADA), Ambassador Maryam Hassan, during a courtesy visit aimed at deepening cooperation in the fight against substance abuse in the state.

Amb. Hassan congratulated CN Lawal on his leadership and reaffirmed LESPADA’s commitment to supporting ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse across Kano. She described her visit as a show of solidarity and stressed the organisation’s readiness to expand its partnership with the NDLEA in addressing the growing challenge of substance misuse.

In his remarks, CN Lawal thanked Amb. Hassan for LESPADA’s continued support, noting the crucial role civil society groups play in complementing government interventions. He appealed for the organisation’s assistance in analyzing drug-related cases, underscoring the need for sustained collaboration to effectively combat the menace.

The meeting, held at the NDLEA Kano Command, highlights the shared resolve of both institutions to promote a drug-free society and protect the well-being of residents.

The visit was confirmed in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, on behalf of the Commander.
