Zamfara Women Police Mark 70 Years of Service with 5km Road Walk

Sidi Ibrahim Kaulahi, Gusau

Female Police Officers of the Zamfara State Command on Saturday joined their counterparts nationwide to commemorate 70 years of women’s active participation in the Nigeria Police Force with a symbolic 5-kilometre road walk in Gusau metropolis.

The walk, which kicked off in the early hours of the day, formed part of a series of activities lined up to honour seven decades of commitment, professionalism and the vital contributions of women to policing and national security.

Female personnel drawn from various units and formations across the Command took part in the event, showcasing unity, discipline and strength. The colourful procession also reflected the growing visibility and leadership of women within the Force.

According to the organisers, the celebration underscores the resilience and unwavering dedication of Women Police Officers who continue to play pivotal roles in promoting peace, safeguarding lives and property, and supporting ongoing security operations in Zamfara State and across the country.

The anniversary activities are expected to continue with sensitisation programmes, lectures and community engagements aimed at further strengthening the role of women in Nigeria’s policing architecture.
