Ganduje storms Kano on condolence visit, draws massive crowd

Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and immediate past governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Tuesday stormed the ancient city of Kano on a condolence visit that drew an overwhelming turnout of supporters.
Ganduje, who arrived alongside his wife, was received at the Aminu Kano International Airport by top APC stalwarts, including Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, Abdullahi Abbas, Abba Dabo, and hundreds of enthusiastic party loyalists.
The atmosphere at the airport on Tuesday ,was electric as chants of “Sai Uban Abba!” filled the air, with supporters lining the streets as early as 10 a.m. to welcome the former governor.
However,the arrival quickly turned into a display of political solidarity, as the former APC national chairman waved to the cheering crowd before joining a long convoy that moved through major streets of the city.
Ganduje’s convoy made several stops across Kano, where he paid condolence visits to bereaved families.
At each location, he offered prayers and words of comfort, describing the losses as painful and urging families to find strength in faith.
His visit, which lasted nearly six hours, was widely viewed as both a humanitarian gesture and a reaffirmation of his enduring influence within the state’s political landscape.
Throughout the tour, Ganduje interacted warmly with residents, shaking hands, smiling, and exchanging pleasantries with well-wishers who surrounded his convoy.
As the former governor departed for Abuja later in the day, supporters continued chanting in jubilation, underscoring the deep connection he maintains with his political base in Kano.
Observers noted that the visit not only provided solace to grieving families but also reinforced Ganduje’s visibility and relevance within the APC structure in the state.
