He made this known ,while speaking at the Yusuf Sule Maitama of Federal University of Education Kano,a school named after late Yusuf Maitama Sule ,where he gave out scholarship to 1,000 indigenes of Kano North zone of the state

He noted that it will be recalled that ” Before the immediate past governor Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’ left office, he changed the name of North West University Kano to Yusuf Sule Maitama University Kano ,but immediately governor Yusuf ,he reversed the university to the North West University

He therefore noted that ” I took It, upon my self to approach President Tinubu’ and I asked him to do me a favour by immortalized late Yusuf Maitama Sule with a University, thanks Mr .President he obliged

would like to ask for the upgrade of Federal College of Education Kano to late Yusuf Maitama University of Education., President Tinubu’ said ” is done deal. Is it not education? A federal university to turn this institution into a federal university? I said, yes. He said, go ahead.”

” Let me fast forward to say Mr. President, ceded to our request and this university upgraded to a full-fledged university. So I’m here today to on behalf of this great institution, on behalf of the entire student of this institution, indeed the entire student of Kano State and the parents, fathers and mothers of the students of Kano State,to thank you Mr. President.”

Thank you Mr. President deeply with immense happiness and joy that he accepted the request to get this university, to get the college of education upgraded to a full-fledged university.

Commenting on the scholarship, the Deputy Senate President said “And I’m afraid this scholarship is restricted to Kano North alone, but I’ve decided that I’m going to look on how to assist those in Kano Central and Kano South. I’m going to come up with something.”

Senator Jibrin then told the students”Please try to devote your time to your studies. Do not indulge yourself in cultism that will be inimical to your academic career get focused on your studies”.

“Because as I said, “there is nothing that will make you be a successful person in life like education. I’m a business man. I’m also a politician.”

” I only worked in my life for two years. But as you speak, I’m a PhD student. I have my bachelor’s, I have my master’s, I am doing my PhD now.Senator Jibrin added

“And I have grandchildren. If I should be a student, why won’t you try to focus on your studies and be successful? So please, try to focus. Put more focus on your studies”DSP said
