NANS urges President Tinubu,to sack Kyari for alleged incompetenc

EditorBy EditorAugust 6, 202402 Mins Read
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) unequivocally demands the immediate removal of Mr.Mele Kolo Kyari, as the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), for alleged  incompetence
This was just as the body hinted that,” His  tenure, which commenced in 2019, has been an unmitigated disaster, wreaking havoc on the Nigerian economy and perpetuating a culture of inefficiency and mismanagement.
Making this known on Tuesday in a statement signed and made available to press in Kano, the NANS Senate President, said that
” Since 2019, the country has witnessed an astronomical escalation in fuel prices, culminating in a devastating impact on the nation’s economic stability.’
He added that his removal is imperative to salvage the economy and restore the nation’s integrity.
According to him,” In light of this, we contend that Kyari’s continued leadership is antithetical to the nation’s economic well-being and stability”.
He however hinted that ” This
precipitous increase has had far-reaching consequences, including skyrocketing inflation, diminished purchasing power, and a general decline in the standard of living.”
 He therefore stated that the
repercussions of this economic malaise have been particularly severe, exacerbating poverty, unemployment, and social unrest.
We implore President Tinubu to recognize the urgency of this situation and act decisively to replace Kyari with a more competent and visionary leader.
The students of Nigeria, who represent the future of this great nation, will not stand idly by while the country is plundered by inept and self-serving individuals. We demand a better future, and we demand it
