Makinde donates SUV to Yinka Ayefele after fire outbreak at Fresh FM

Kola Oyelere Kano

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has donated a brand-new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to renowned gospel musician and broadcaster, Yinka Ayefele, following last week’s fire incident at his Fresh FM Music House in Ibadan.

It will be recalled the fire incident, which occurred on Friday, gutted parts of the radio station and destroyed property worth millions of naira.

However, while presenting the vehicle on behalf of the governor, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, commended Ayefele for his resilience and immense contributions to the media and entertainment industry in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

Governor Makinde then  described Ayefele as a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians, assuring him of the state government’s continued support.

He said: “On behalf of Governor Makinde and the people of Oyo State, we commiserate with you on this unfortunate incident. You remain a beacon of courage and an inspiration to many. This token is a show of support and solidarity.”

However,Ayefele, visibly moved by the gesture, expressed gratitude to the governor and the state government.

It will be recalled that Governor Makinde had earlier visited the Music House a day after the inferno to sympathize with Ayefele and personally assess the level of damage.
