Former PDP Chairman, ex-Minister Audu Ogbeh dies

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ex-Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu gbeh, has died at the age of 78.

However,Mr Ogbeh passed away on Saturday, August 9, with his family confirming the news in a statement.

It was stated that” He departed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, service, and dedication to our nation and community,” the family said. “We are comforted by the many lives he touched and the examples he set.”

They added that details of his funeral arrangements would be announced later, while expressing gratitude to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for their prayers and support during this period.

“We will appreciate some privacy at this time while we mourn the loss of our patriarch,” the statement concluded.

A seasoned politician, writer, and farmer, Ogbeh chaired the PDP between 2001 and 2005. He later served as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development from 2015 to 2019 under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Known for his outspokenness and deep commitment to agricultural development, Ogbeh’s political career spanned decades, leaving an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political and economic landscape.
