Kano SBMC hails  Governor Abba’s commitment to schools renovation

The Kano State School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) has hailed  the Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for approving the renovation of dilapidated structures at some schools, and establishment of new primary school in the state.
The State SBMC Chairman Tijjani Haladu Baraya who was speaking in response to the state government approval, said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is demonstrating high sense of commitment towards revitalizing the education sector.
He maintained that the effort made by the administration to renovate dilapidated schools especially Government Technical College Dambatta and Government Technical College Ungoggo comes at the right time when the schools are in need of serious interventions.
” I could recall when the issue of Government Technical College Dambatta dilapidation was trending calling for the SBMC to come to their aid but you know the dilapidation is beyond the SBMC, hence intimated the relevant authorities ” he noted.
He also commended the State Commissioner Ministry of Education Dr. Gwani Ali Haruna Makoda for ensuring that the complaints reached the State Governor, stressing that the SBMC is now happy that action is being taken by the Government.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director Public Enlightenment Ministry of Education, Kano,Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru ,a copy made available to press in Kano
According to the statement, Alhaji
Alhaji  Baraya further appreciated the Commissioner’s leadership style in engaging relevant stakeholders on issues of education development.
The Chairman then called on parents, community leaders, Civil Societies Organizations and other stakeholders to support the state government in providing access and equitable education in the state.
Recall that during its 29th meeting on Wednesday, 9th July 2025, Kano State Executive Council has among others approved the general renovation of Government Technical College, Dambatta, Government Technical College, Ungogo (Phase I), Government Girls Secondary School, Balan, Tsanyawa, Government Secondary School, Guringawa and establishment of a primary school at Gishiri-Wuya community in Warawa LGA.
