Kano Governor commiserates with Jigawa over Majia fire tragedy

Kano State governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Jigawa State following the devastating fire incident in Majia, which claimed over 100 lives and left more than 70 individuals with varying degrees of burns.

However, governor Yusuf described the incident as a “heart-wrenching tragedy” that marks a significant loss not only for Jigawa State but for the entire country.

This was contained in  a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor expressed his deepest sympathies to Governor Umar Namadi, the government, and people of Jigawa State.

Gov.Yusuf ,who specifically offered condolences to the families of the deceased and the community of Majia, praying that Allah grant eternal peace to the souls of the departed and speedy recovery to those injured. He also prayed that such a catastrophe never occurs again.

He therefore stated that this
gesture of commiseration demonstrates the solidarity and unity that exists among Nigerian states in times of crisis.

He however emphasised that the
 people of Jigawa State are in mourning, and the government is working to provide support to those affected.

Governor Yusuf’s message of condolence reinforces the importance of national unity and cooperation in the face of tragedy.
