Gov. Yusuf distributes 73,800 desks to schools across 44 LGAs in Kano

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf,in his efforts to pave the way for a condusive educational learning in the state,
has distributed 73,800 three-seater desks to schools across the 44 local government areas of the state.

Making this known, during the
distribution ceremony held at the Trade Fair Complex, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf stated  that the provision of furniture is a significant step in the ongoing commitment to improving education in the state, which serves as the bedrock  of any prosperous society.

According to him,” This is  part of determined effort to implement components of the State of Emergency on Education and improve the education sector.

Yusuf who disclosed that this
initiative is not merely about providing furniture; but also, is about restoring confidence and hope in the hearts of students.

The Governor   assured the public that his administration remains committed to the continued provision of essential equipment and facilities necessary for the smooth teaching and learning process in all public schools across the state.

The Governor however emphasized
that the Kano State Government is deeply committed to ensuring that every child in Kano has the opportunity to learn in a conducive atmosphere that allows them to focus, dream, and grow, as promised during the 2023 election campaign.

Yusuf hinted that ” The desks we are distributing today represent a significant stride toward addressing challenges in the education sector, providing our students with the comfort and dignity they deserve,”

He then assured that “These
desks have been carefully designed for durability and comfort to serve not only the students of today but also future generations who will pass through our schools,”

Gov Yusuf then called on all community stakeholders to join hands in ensuring that the desks are well-maintained and that schools are treated as centers of excellence.

He then expressed appreciation for the efforts of over 11,000 young carpenters and welders who played a significant role in the school transformation project.

Gov.Yusuf when speaking further added that the government prioritized the development of local craftsmanship, ensuring that the youth were active participants in this historic initiative.

He also urged the beneficiary schools and pupils to protect the furniture provided for them ,through a proper maintenance culture , because huge amount of money was spent to purchased them

Gov Yusuf, however disclosed that all necessary arrangements have been concluded to provide a befitting school uniforms to public schools in the state

He then called on well- to-do in the community,to complement the efforts of the state government,by contribute their quota towards uplifting the standard of education

Earlier,the State Commissioner for Education Alhaji Haruna Doguwa explained that, the Governor’s positive initiatives on Education is gradually changing the inherited decay in the sector from the immediate past administration.
Haruna then assured  the Governor that, the furnitures will be evenly distributed to make learning easy and better for the populace

While the Chairman State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB Alhaji Yusuf Kabir commended governor Yusuf for the gestures and assured best utilization of the furnitures.

He said SUBEB will remain focus and committed to towards uplifting education in state.

He enjoyed students and teachers to utilize the the furnitures properly and cautiously.
