AN elder statesman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has donated N1.5 billion to support victims of the devastating flood in Maiduguri, Borno State.
However,the 96-year-old billionaire, who led a delegation from Kano, lamented the worsening economic conditions in the country and urged political leaders and elites to repent and fear Allah in their dealings.
Alhaji Dantata, made the donation during his visit to the Borno State Government House on Tuesday,
He then expressed his condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum and the state’s people.
He also prayed for peace and harmony in Borno and across Nigeria.

In his response ,governor
Zulum,expressed deep gratitude for Dantata’s generosity, describing the elder statesman’s visit as a beacon of hope for the people of Borno during these difficult times.

“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of humanity by a 96-year-old to visit us.

It will be recalled that this
donation follows a similar gesture by Dantata’s nephew, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who earlier contributed N1 billion to assist the flood victims.
