Stop denying knowledge of 44 LGs medical supplies contract, Kwankwaso tells Gov Yusuf

A chieftain of  All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano state Alhaji (Dr) Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso, has called on Governor Abba Yusuf to stop denying knowledge of the recently revealed alleged medical supplies contract, where 44 local government councils were instructed to pay about N9 million each to one Novomed company allegedly owned by the nephew of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP)’s leader Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Making this known in a statement on Sunday signed  in Kano while responding to another statement issued by the spokesman of the governor saying he is not aware of the contract.

He said that he had mentioned earlier that Rabiu Kwankwaso is the governor of the state by proxy and is the one in charge in the state.

He however added thatif it is true that Yusuf is in-charge of the state, this matter is not to be investigated but should rather seek legal redress against the whistleblower Bello Galadanci.

Kwankwaso therefore alleged that
“If you do not know about this deal then you have confirmed what I said earlier, that Rabiu Kwankwaso is the governor of the state and not you. You are only his errand boy.”

He also stated that “If you are aware of it, then investigation should not be the answer but you should seek legal redress against the allegations before competent court of law”

Therefore,if ” Your claim that you are not aware only confirms that you are not the governor in-charge, but Rabiu Kwankwaso is. Whatever you are doing is by the instructions and command of your boss”.

“We can agree that you are not aware of the contract but your boss is aware of it. We don’t want you to deceive the public” Kwankwaso stated.

Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso further explained that if governor Yusuf should say he is aware of the contract, and the money is paid to the accounts of his boss’s nephew, with evidence of transactions displayed by the whistle blower, then he has a hand in the dirty deal.

Therefore, refusing knowledge of the deal only confirms that governor Yusuf is only an errand boy of Kwankwaso and not the actual governor of the state.

Meanwhile, governor  Yusuf has ordered immediate investigation into allegation of drug supply contract across the 44 Local Government Council’s of the state.

However,it will be recalled that this
development may not be unconnected to allegations by a popular skitmaker who in a recent video has raised allegation of drug supply contract against the state government.

It will be recalled that governor Yusuf’ had denied knowledge of the contract, directed the Chairman, Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Bar. Muhuyi Rimingado to launch investigation into the allegation.

According to  a statement jointly signed by the Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye and Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Sanusi Bature, said the commission is expected to report the outcome for further necessary action.

The statement reads :“Gov. Abba K. Yusuf of Kano State has denied knowledge of the contract said to have been recently awarded for the supply of drugs to 44 Local Government Councils  of the state.

However, the statement further stated that ” The Governor therefore directed the Executive Chairman, Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) to immediately investigate the allegation and report the outcome for further necessary action.

While the Governor ” Also  urged the good people of Kano State to exercise patience pending the outcome of the investigation,” the statement however reads.

This  development may not be unconnected to allegations by a popular skitmaker who in a recent video has raised allegation of drug supply contract against the state government.
