Kano governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’ has declare a 24 hours curfew in Kano with immediate effect
Making the announcement while addressing press conference,on Thursday at Ande – chamber government house ,said it was regretable that the peaceful protest was hijacked by enemies of progress to caused havoc and untimely death of innocent people
He however disclosed that this morning,he received demands from the organisers of the peaceful protest’
I therefore promised them that I will forward their demands to Mr President Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appropriate action
Gov Yusuf however stated that but it was sadden and lamentable that some enemies of progress hijacked the protest to foment trouble and attacked innocent people
These disgruntled elements also looted property of innocent people as well as killed innocent people
Gov Yusuf then said that in view of the calamities and untold hardship caused by these enemies of progress the 24 hours curfew has been decided to avert further destruction of property and guide against further mayhem caused
By the power confered on me ” as the chief security of the state ,I then declare a 24 hours curfew in the state”
He then urged the teeming masses to bear with him on this step taken adding that it is best option at this crucial time to avert unnecessary wanton destruction of innocent property and killing of the people
Gov Yusuf then directed the security operatives to effected this order by make sure that it was effective maintained and observed at every nook and crannies of the state
