KANO state governor,Abba Kabir Yusuf,on his continuation of the monthly empowerment of women, has distributed N50,000 each to 5,200 women across the state for the month July in a monthly program by his administration.
He however warned those shouldered with the responsibility of distributing the monies to beneficiaries to ensure transparency as his administration will not tolerate corrupt acts.
Gov Yusuf, during the distribution held at open theartre at  the government’house on Saturday, said that a total of N260 million was distributed  to the women and called  on them to enhance their micro businesses within the domestic status.
He disclosed that 100 women each are selected from 36 local governments of the state while 200 women are selected each from the eight local governments of the metropolis.
According to him, this money will also not only increase the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the state, but will also break the circle of poverty within the state.
Gov.Yusuf further disclosed that
“Since the begining of our empowerment program in all the local governments of the state , this is the second segment of the initiative.”
“100 women have been selected to benefit from 36 local governments and 200 each from the eight local governments that make up the metropolis of Kano.
“Each of the beneficiaries will be given N50,000 each, making a total of N260 million for the month of July” the governor said.
The Governor then expressed gratitude to the contribution of women since the begining of the Kwankwasiyya Political Movement and they voted for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the state.
However,governor Yusuf, therefore
performed the ceremony of handing over the dummy cheques to the beneficiaries.
