Jigawa tanker inferno: Kano donates N100 million to victims

The Kano State Government has donated N100 million,  to assist victims of the recent petrol Tanker explosion in Majia, Taura local government area of Jigawa State

However,governor  Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the donation during a condolence visit to Governor Umar Namadi at the Government House in Dutse.

He emphasized that, the donation was meant to provide relief to the families of those who lost their lives and to support the treatment of those injured in the Explosion.

This was contained in a statement signed by the spokesperson to the  to Kano State Governor, Sanusi Bature,a copy made available to press on Friday in Kano

According to him, the strong historical and cultural ties between Kano and Jigawa States, underscoring Kano’s solidarity with its neighbours during the time of grief.

Governor Yusuf, also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and those recovering from injuries, offering prayers for the Almighty to prevent future tragedies of this nature.

Responding, the Jigawa Governor, Umar Namadi expressed gratitude on behalf of the people of Jigawa State, thanking Kano State for its generosity and support during such a difficult time.

He therefore assured the Governor  that the funds would be judiciously used to aid the victims and their families.

Governor Namadi however disclosed that, as of Thursday evening, 167 lives had been lost, and 67 people were receiving treatment at various medical facilities within and outside the state.
