The newly appointed Director-General of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Alhaji Umar Tanko Yakasai, has declared that Kano State has opened the way for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 presidential election.

He made the declaration following the massive turnout of supporters and the defection of prominent politicians, including former Senator Kabiru Gaya, during the inauguration of the national structure and Kano State executive committee of the TSG

According to him, the large crowd at the event demonstrated the growing support for President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.

Yakasai said the TSG, regarded as one of the pioneer support groups for Tinubu’s presidential ambition, began its mobilisation activities around 2020 under the leadership of its founder and convener, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.

The DG expressed appreciation to Faleke for appointing him to lead the organisation, as well as President Tinubu for recognising the family of Alhaji Tanko Yakasai.

Yakasai then described Faleke and other founding members of the TSG as courageous Nigerians who supported Tinubu’s presidential ambition at a time when many people were reluctant to openly identify with it.

“We are standing on the shoulders of our founding fathers of TSG. We are standing on the legacy of our visionary leaders and we proudly pledge to carry the flag high and sustain the TSG movement and deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027 presidential election,” he said.

The TSG leader pledged that his team would work with dedication and commitment to sustain the organisation’s grassroots mobilisation and deliver on the mandate given to it

Yakasai also commended President Tinubu for what he described as efforts to stabilise Nigeria’s economy, citing improvements in foreign reserves, inflation, economic growth and federal allocations to states.

He further listed the creation of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), local government financial autonomy and the establishment of additional regional development commissions among the administration’s achievements.

On Kano State, the TSG DG praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, describing his administration as responsible for transforming the state into a construction site through various projects.

He also commended the governor for empowering women and youths, addressing pension arrears, employing youths, providing foreign scholarships and supporting development initiatives across the state.

According to Yakasai Governor Yusuf’s role as Kano State coordinator of the President’s campaign structure would strengthen Tinubu’s chances of securing victory in the state in 2027.

“With Governor Abba in Kano as the Kano State Coordinator of PBAT PCC, In Shaa Allah, Mr President should be rest assured of his resounding victory in the polls come 2027,” he said.

He declared that the TSG would work to prevent opposition parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and National Democratic Congress (NDC), from defeating the APC in Kano.

The DG urged the newly inaugurated national and state officials of the group to immediately commence grassroots mobilisation, saying there was no room for complacency.

He also appealed to Governor Yusuf to support his leadership of the TSG, stressing that his appointment represented a vote of confidence in the people of Kano.
“This position is for the entire people of Kano due to the trust our leader, founder and convener has in Kano people,” he said.

He urged the newly inaugurated officials to intensify their mobilisation efforts across the state and country ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
