The Kano State Government has empowered 100 women in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area as part of efforts to improve livelihoods, promote entrepreneurship and enhance women’s economic wellbeing.

The Commissioner for Agriculture,
Dr. Danjuma Mahmoud Yankatseri, disclosed this during the distribution of the empowerment support to the beneficiaries, assuring that the initiative would be sustained.

Yankatseri said the intervention was not a one-off programme, explaining that 100 women would benefit from similar empowerment schemes every month to enable them establish and expand businesses and become self-reliant.

He urged the beneficiaries to make productive use of the support provided to improve their businesses and contribute to the welfare of their families and development of their communities.

The Chairman of Dawakin Kudu Local Government, Alhaji Sani Ahmed Mai Rago, commended the initiative, describing it as a significant step towards improving family livelihoods and strengthening the local economy.

Also speaking, the political leader, Alhaji Rabiu Nagogo Gano, expressed appreciation for the programme and called for sustained support for women to enable them establish and maintain viable businesses.

One of the beneficiaries, Hajiya Aisha Tamburawa, thanked the government for the intervention, noting that women had benefited significantly from programmes aimed at improving their livelihoods and developing their businesses.

The beneficiaries were encouraged to utilise the empowerment support responsibly and productively to achieve the objectives of the programme.
