2027 candidate selection: APC Chieftain, commends Gov Yusuf on transparency , inclusive approach

Kola Oyelere Kano

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Faizu Alfindiki, has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for adopting what he described as a transparent and inclusive approach to political candidate selection ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued in Kano, Alfindiki said the governor’s consultative style represents a departure from previous practices where decisions were often made without sufficient engagement with key stakeholders, a situation he noted frequently led to internal party disputes.

He stated that the current approach has created room for broader participation within the political space, strengthening unity among party members and boosting confidence among supporters.

According to Alfindiki, the process demonstrates competence, strategic thinking, and political maturity in managing candidate selection in the state.

He added that the inclusive method has fostered a stronger sense of belonging among party members, thereby enhancing cohesion within the party structure and improving its chances in future elections.

Alfindiki further emphasized that transparency and fairness in political decision-making are essential to sustaining democracy and minimizing tensions within political parties.

He noted that the leadership style demonstrated by the governor could serve as a model for managing internal party affairs, particularly in politically diverse environments.

Reiterating his support, Alfindiki endorsed the continuation of Yusuf’s leadership beyond 2027 and echoed the slogan “Abba go again,” describing it as a call for continuity in governance aimed at advancing development and improving the welfare of Kano State residents.
