Christmas: Zamfara Reps Member Distributes Palliatives to Christian Community, Security Agencies

Sidi Ibrahim Kaulahi, Gusau

A member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu, has distributed food palliatives to the Christian community and security agencies in Zamfara State to support the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year celebrations.

The lawmaker donated 300 bags of 50kg rice and 200 bags of semovita, aimed at easing the burden of the festive season and enabling beneficiaries to celebrate with joy and happiness.

Flagging off the distribution exercise in Bungudu Local Government Area, Hon. Zubairu called on Christians to use the yuletide period to offer special prayers for the restoration of peace, harmony, and tranquillity in Zamfara State and the country at large.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Distribution Committee and former Sole Administrator of Bungudu Local Government Council, Hon. Sadiq Maiturare, who handed over the items to beneficiaries, said the lawmaker also urged Christians to reflect on the holiness of the Christmas season by praying for lasting peace and unity across the state and the nation.

Beneficiaries of the donation included security agencies operating in the state, such as the Nigeria Police Force, the Military, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service, Nigeria Correctional Service, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Customs Service, and the Nigeria Immigration Service, among others.

Christian organizations that benefited from the gesture included the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Zamfara State Chapter, represented by Ambassador Michael Oluwale on behalf of its Chairman, Evangelist Tajuddeen Afolabi Azeez, as well as the All Tribes Network, Zamfara State, represented by its Chairman, Hassan Binna Usama, and Chairlady, Rita James.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Hon. Zubairu for the gesture, assuring that the items would be distributed judiciously to the intended recipients.

Also speaking, the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, commended the lawmaker for including security agencies in the Christmas donation, noting that the gesture would enable personnel to celebrate the festive season in good spirits. He assured that the items would be shared equitably among the agencies.
