The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has decorated 29 newly promoted officers of the Command, charging them to rededicate themselves to professionalism, integrity, and selfless service in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking during the ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Kano, CP Bakori expressed pride in the officers’ achievements, describing the promotion as a recognition of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to duty.

According to him, the promotions were approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC) on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM. He commended the IGP for his “visionary leadership, tireless efforts, and unwavering commitment to the welfare and career progression of officers across the Force.”

The Commissioner also appreciated the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1 Kano, for his guidance and continuous support to the Command, noting that such mentorship has strengthened the effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

Breaking down the promotion list, CP Bakori revealed that two officers were elevated from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), 21 from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), and six from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP).

He reminded the newly promoted officers that their new ranks come with increased responsibility, urging them to “lead by example and inspire their subordinates to uphold the highest standards of discipline and service.”

“As you wear your new ranks, remember that promotion is not just a reward but a call to greater responsibility,” CP Bakori said. “Our country faces serious security challenges that require innovative thinking and teamwork, and I trust that you will rise to the occasion.”he said

He concluded by congratulating the officers and reaffirming the Command’s commitment to ensuring a safer and more secure Kano State and Nigeria at large.
