Alleged witchcraft:Police arrest son for killing mother

The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Jibrin Ado, for allegedly killed his mother Magajiya Ado, on suspicion of witchcraft.

It will be recalled that the tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at about 4:30 p.m. in Daneji village, Ringim Local Government Area.
Also ,it was gathered that the suspect, alongside accomplices identified as Musa Kwalle, Dan Abba, Sule Musa and one Arrow, all of Gerawa Village, forcefully entered the home of his father, Adamu Saleh, where they descended on the deceased with heavy sticks.

The finding indicated that the security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed that “The suspects beat up Saleh’s wife, Magajiya Ado, 50, until she became unconscious, accusing her of witchcraft,”

However the  victim who was rushed to General Hospital, Ringim, but later died while receiving treatment. Her remains have since been released to the family for burial.

The .Police said Jibrin Ado has been arrested while efforts are ongoing to track down his fleeing accomplices.
