A prominent member of Benue politician Mr.Olofu Charles,has urged the Secretary to Government of Federation ( SGF) Senator George Akume,to emulate on how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’had reconciled the aggrieved Lagos lawmakers, to do same by also find a lasting solution to political logjam threatened the unity of the party members in the state
Making this call in a statement signed on Friday by Mr.Charles,a copy made available to press in Kano, however added that going by the unfolding political scenerio,no amount of mergers between some politicians can truncated the second term of President Tinubu comes 2027 general election
He then made an appeal to Senator Akume,the Minister of water resources and sanitation Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev to sit down at a round table to discussed whatever issues affecting the progress of the party adding that it would be political suicide to allowed governor Alia dumped the ruling party to another party
Mr.Charles however disclosed that Rev. Father Alia had dismissed the rumour making the rounds that he was planning to defected to Social Democratic Party ( SDP) and teams up with the former governor of Kaduna Nasir El Rufai
It would be political unwise,if elders of the APC ,were pretending that all is well amongst the rank and file members adding that delay is dangerous as holding of letters of appointments for 12 River Basin authorities is allegedly causing a serious ripples between governor Alia,the SGF and Minister of water resources and sanitation
He said it was alleged that all of them have their respective candidates for the position noting that this was alleged reasons letter of appointment to the appointees were been delayed ,a situation that does not augur well for polity
According to him,this unnecessary transferred of aggression has been denying over 70 innocent people appointed by President Tinubu to assume office,as they were yet to receive letter of appointment from the office of the SGF
Mr.Charles then begged Senator Akume,to as a matter of urgency ordered for the released of letter of appointment to the 12 River Basin authorities appointees,to afford irreplaceable damage,as those appointments had contributed immensely to the emergence of President Tinubu
However,while commenting on the recent dumping of former Kaduna state governor,Nasir El Rufai,he said,it can not affected negatively the chance of President Tinubu
When you talk of the possibility of the coalition wrestling power from the ruling party, I think you should also ask yourself a pertinent question, can they agree together?
He added that ” The major opposition platforms, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), are seriously entangled in intense internal wrangling.
According to him,going by the names of politicians that were planning merger,like El Rufai, Alhaji Atiku Abubalkar,Major Al – Mustapha, Bahchi state governor Bala Muhammad, Peter Obi and even the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People Party ( NNPP) in 2023 election, Senator Rabiu Musa kwankwaso can not posed any serious threat to President Tinubu winning his second term re- election in 2027
He questioned” Does the Social Democratic Party (SDP) have the prospects to lead coalition ahead of 2027 ? “
Charles therefore asked “ Who will fly the ticket ? Is it Atiku Abubakar or Peter Obi ? Is it Nasir El-rufai or Yemi Osinbajo? Is it Rotimi Amaechi or Bukola Saraki? adding that all of them have presidential ambitions and are not ready to relinquish their interest for another
He therefore stated that their respective president ambitions would positively paid for easy ride for the incumbent President , Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu’ to occupy Aso Vila by the 2027 general election
