AN internal crisis allegedly rocking the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Kano state chapter,has taken a frightening dimension ,with the announcement of suspension of the State Secretary to the Government (SSG)Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, and the Commissioner for Transport, Muhammad Diggol.
Investigation carried out by the reporter shown that all was not well with the suspended SSG and a very powerful man of the party( name withheld) for a long time
It was also revealed by a source,who preferred anonymity, within the party that Dr.Bichi was perceived to be one of the loyal person to the state governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf
However,this new development and suspension of the above two notable NNPP members was announced by the state party chairman, Hashimu Sulaiman Dungurawa, on Monday evening.
Alhaji Dungurawa,disclosed that the suspension came after the party received multiple complaints from the ward and local government leadership of the party.
Dungurawa further disclosed that they were suspended because of disrespecting the party and its leadership.
According to him “The party cannot tolerate actions that undermine its leadership and structure.’
He emphasized that “After receiving formal complaint letters from their wards, and upon confirmation of the allegations by the local leadership, we had no other option but to take this decisive step,”
However,the leadership of the NNPP in Kano North, under the chairmanship of Sulaiman Dambatta, further verified the allegations, which led to the ultimate decision to suspend both officials.
However, the suspension comes a few moments after the Kano State Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa announced that the state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has reconciled Baffa Bichi and the chairmanship candidate of Bichi local government candidate of NNPP in the forthcoming local government election, Hamza Sule Maifata.
The finding however revealed that the powerful man of the party,was not in good tandem with the suspend SSG, because he (Dr.Bichi) allegedly failed to succumbed to his whims and caprices,a situation he had been looking for ways to boot him out of governance
It was also revealed that the sister to the suspended SSG was recently defected from the NNPP to All Progressive Congress ( APC) at a ceremony held in Abuja
There then the Sister (name withheld) when speaking at the occasion told the gathering who attended her decamping to APC ,that her brother ( Dr.Bichi) would soon joined her in APC
It will be recalled that Dr.Bichi was former chairman of TETFund,and a prominent member of APC,before
he pitched tent with the NNPP
With the unfolding political scenario,very soon ,the source hinted that the suspended SSG may find his way back to the APC,as it was alleged that he has been promised a good office in APC
