The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his administration’s efforts in the education sector and other people-oriented development programmes.

Sanusi made the remarks during the traditional Sallah homage (Hawan Dallah) at the Government House, Kano, as part of activities marking the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

The monarch also called for peace and unity during the festive period, urging residents to avoid actions capable of causing disunity in the state.

“I call on all of us to continue to pray for the peace, unity, and progress of our dear state and the nation at large,” he said.

Responding on behalf of the governor, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Ismail Jibril Falgore, received the Emir and his delegation, describing the visit as a cherished cultural tradition that reflects the state’s rich heritage and unity.

“It is my pleasure to warmly welcome Your Royal Highness, the Emir of Kano, and your esteemed entourage to this year’s Sallah, a celebration that reflects our rich culture, heritage, and unity as a people,” Falgore said.

He conveyed the governor’s appreciation to residents for their continued support and cooperation, noting that their commitment remains vital to the administration’s success.

Falgore also urged citizens to maintain peace and act responsibly throughout the festive period, stressing the need to uphold tolerance and mutual respect.

“As we celebrate, I call on all citizens to avoid any action or behaviour that could threaten the peace and stability of our dear state. Let us continue to uphold the values of tolerance, mutual respect, and harmonious coexistence regardless of our differences,” he said.
