Adelowo Oladipo, Minna

The Niger State Government has taken a major step toward the realization of the proposed Mokwa Trailer Park with an inspection of identified project sites by the Director General of the Niger State Industrial Park Development Agency (NSIPDA), Alhaji Baba Kudu Mohamed.

The inspection was carried out under the directive of the Commissioner for Investment and Private Sector Development, Alhaji Aminu Suleman Takuma, as part of efforts by the Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago–led administration to boost investment, strengthen logistics infrastructure, and enhance economic activities across the state.

According to a press statement issued by the Chief Information Officer of the ministry, Malam Ismaila Musa, and made available to journalists in Minna on Wednesday, the inspection took place on January 14, 2026.

The tour featured top management staff of NSIPDA, including the Head of Operations, Mallam Nasiru Suleiman; the Agency Secretary, Mallam Suleiman Idris; and a consultant from Achineering Nigeria Limited, Mr. Dan Musa.

The delegation also paid courtesy visits to the Mokwa Local Government Council Secretariat and the Ndalile of Mokwa, His Royal Highness Alhaji Mohamed Shaba Aliyu, to formally brief them on the proposed project.

Receiving the team, the traditional ruler commended the developmental vision of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago and assured the delegation of the full support and cooperation of the Mokwa community toward the successful execution of the project.

Malam Ismaila Musa disclosed that a total of 60 hectares of land has been identified and mapped out at the proposed site for the development of the trailer park.

Speaking during the inspection, the NSIPDA Director General revealed that the project, which is to be developed by Truck Transit Park Limited, is scheduled for presentation before the Niger State Executive Council on January 27, 2026.

He added that upon approval, the developer would immediately mobilize to site for the commencement of construction.

When completed, the Mokwa Trailer Park is expected to enhance road safety, reduce traffic congestion, create employment opportunities, and stimulate economic growth in Mokwa and surrounding communities.
