Gov Yusuf says his administration has achieved over 80% of campaign promises in less than three years

Kola Oyelere, Kano

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has said his administration has delivered more than 80 percent of its campaign promises within just two and a half years in office.

The Governor made the declaration on Wednesday while presenting the 2026 Appropriation Bill of N1.36 trillion to the Kano State House of Assembly.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf described the achievement as a demonstration of focused governance and steadfast commitment to improving the lives of the people.

“It is gratifying to note that over 80% of our administration’s blueprint has been successfully implemented, touching nearly every sector and delivering measurable impact on the lives of our people,” he said.

He noted that the 2026 budget presentation comes at a pivotal moment, emphasising the need for renewed urgency and consolidated efforts to ensure full delivery on his administration’s promises.

According to him, the proposed 2026 budget is not just a financial document but “a covenant and a commitment to consolidate gains, complete key projects, and build systems that will serve generations to come.”

The Governor described the budget as “bold but grounded, aspirational yet realistic,” reflecting his administration’s resolve to make Kano a resilient, inclusive, and prosperous state.

Governor Yusuf also commended members of the State Assembly for what he termed their constructive engagement during the 2025 budget cycle and their continued support in addressing the needs of the people.

The N1,368,127,929,271 proposed budget allocates N934.6 billion to capital expenditure and N433.5 billion to recurrent expenditure.

Education received the largest allocation, with N405.35 billion, representing 30 percent of the total budget—confirming the sector as a top priority for the administration.

The statement was signed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Kano.
