Governor Yusuf urge FG to introduce policies capable of uplifting farmers , strengthening private sectors

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has urged the  Federal Government to introduce policies that would uplift farmers, strengthen the private sector, and support rice millers across the country.
According to him,”Kano has a comparative advantage in agro-processing and trading, which, if harnessed, could serve as a growth driver not only for the state but for the entire northern region.”
The Kano State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi, who represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, made this known during the association’s three-day Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Exhibition currently taking place in Kano.
He then  commended the exhibition, describing it as beneficial not only to industrialists but also to the economy and national development.

He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting private sector growth as a strategy to reduce unemployment, assuring that Kano remains open to both local and foreign investors.

He also urged Nigerians to patronize locally made products in recognition of their importance to socio-economic growth and national development.

He therefore  disclosed that discussions were ongoing between Kano State and the Republic of Chad to explore investment opportunities in the state’s livestock market.

Earlier, when speaking with journalists ,the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Kano and Jigawa States branch, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Isyaku Umar however called on the Federal Government to create a more enabling environment that will encourage both local and foreign investors to thrive in the country.

Umar noted  that with Nigeria’s population of over 200 million, government at the federal, state, and local levels cannot provide employment opportunities for the teeming youth alone.

According to him,” Government must recognize the critical role of the private sector in job creation and economic development.”

This can only be achieved through industrial-friendly policies, affordable electricity, and other support systems that will enable industries to grow and absorb more youths,” Umar said.
