He commended the dedication and commitment of information officers in carrying out their duties and encouraged them to continue supporting the Kano State Government in achieving its development goals.
The Commissioner made this known while receiving a delegation from the Forum of Local Government Information Officers who paid him a courtesy visit to express their appreciation for his continued support and development initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity and welfare of media officers in the state.
Comrade Waiya emphasized that the administration of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf is committed to creating an enabling environment for information officers to operate with competence, integrity, and professionalism, thereby ensuring accurate and timely information reaches the public.

Earlier speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Chairman of the Forum of Local Government Information Officers, Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai, thanked the Commissioner for the warm reception and acknowledged his efforts in improving staff welfare and working conditions within the Ministry.
He however disclosed that the visit was organized to show appreciation for the Commissioner’s ongoing efforts in sourcing support for information officers serving in the 44 local governments of the state.
He also hailed the Commissioner for organizing regular training programs and professional development initiatives, including plans to send officers to the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for further specialization.
He gave kudo to the Commissioner for equipping officers with modern tools and equipment, aimed at modernizing information dissemination practices without hindrance.
Jamilu Yakasai concluded by thanking the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the entire leadership of the ministry for their continuous cooperation and commitment to improving the media sector in the state.
