The Kano State Government has filed fresh charges against former Governor and All Progressive Congress (APC)National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and his erstwhile Commissioner for Justice, Musa Abdullahi Lawan, at the Kano State High Court.

According to the fresh charges ,the
charges accused the duo of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust, and misappropriation of funds totaling N240 million.

However, the alleged offenses are contrary to sections 96, 311, and 308 of the Penal Code (as amended) CAP 105, Vol. 2, Laws of Kano State.

While the  charge sheet alleges that Ganduje and Lawan conspired to misappropriate state funds for personal benefit, causing wrongful gain to themselves and loss to the government and people of Kano State.

The prosecution intends to present four witnesses and evidence to show that Ganduje betrayed his official trust, abusing his position as Governor to secure personal gains.

However, the  trial date has been set yet and this development comes just a week after Ganduje’s trial began in absentia at Kano State High Court No. 7.
