Former DG NCAA threaten to sues a newspaper for defamation

The Former Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Musa Nuhu, has vehemently kicked against a piece of news published in a newspaper (name withheld),on17 May. 2024  that, he is to be arraigned before EFCC on graft allegations to account for his stewardship as DG of NCAA.

He then threatened that as such, accordingly it demanded that this notification as narrated will attract lawsuit,
This was contained in a statement signed by his clients of Chamo & Isma’il Chamber, indicated that, the statement serves as a formal pre-action notice concerning the defomatory statement published in the newspaper titled;
EFCC to arraign suspended NCAA DG, Nuhu on graft allegations” describing it as factual incorrect and had caused significant harm to their client’s professional reputation and personal well-being.

The statement stated that, under Nigerian law, defamation occurs when false statement about someone is published and causes injury to the subject’s reputation, thus the afformentioned publication meets all the criteria.

He then threatened that as such, accordingly it demanded that this notification as narrated will attract lawsuit,
