Governor Yusuf commissions 40 refurbished state-owned transport vehicles

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has commissioned 40 refurbished vehicles belonging to the state-owned transport company as part of efforts to revitalise public transportation and improve mobility across the state.
The commissioning ceremony, held at the Kano Government House was disclosed in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad.
Speaking at the event, Governor Yusuf said the rehabilitation of the vehicles forms part of his administration’s broader agenda to strengthen public infrastructure, create employment opportunities, and ease transportation challenges faced by residents.
He noted that his government remains committed to restoring the efficiency and dignity of state-owned enterprises through improved management structures, proper maintenance of public assets, and job creation initiatives.
The governor emphasised that the transportation sector plays a vital role in economic development and urged staff of the state transport company to ensure proper maintenance of the vehicles while discharging their duties with integrity and professionalism.
He further assured that his administration would continue to invest in key sectors to drive sustainable development and improve the welfare of the people of Kano.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of the state transport company, Kano Line, Alhaji Sa’idu Abdullahi, expressed appreciation to the governor for his support and commitment to repositioning the company.
Abdullahi disclosed that the company’s operations currently cover 24 states and extend to some West African countries, adding that plans are underway to expand its coverage in the near future.
