KANO State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the fatal road accident that occurred early Sunday at Kwanar Barde in Gezawa Local Government Area, reportedly claiming more than 30 lives and leaving several others injured.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor described the incident as tragic and heartbreaking, noting that the loss is shared not only by the affected families but by the entire people of Kano State.

According to the statement, the crash involved a trailer traveling toward Gujungu and was allegedly caused by reckless driving.
Governor Yusuf extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and offered prayers for the repose of their souls.

He also prayed for the speedy recovery of victims currently receiving treatment at various hospitals across the state.

The governor directed the Kano State Ministry of Health to ensure free and adequate medical care for all injured victims admitted to government health facilities.

He further instructed the Office of the Special Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs to immediately assess the situation and develop support measures for the families of victims.

He also urged motorists, particularly drivers of heavy-duty vehicles, to strictly obey traffic regulations and avoid reckless driving to prevent similar tragedies.

The statement reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting affected families and strengthening emergency response and road safety measures across Kano State.
