Announced this at a press conference held in his house in Kano on Sunday, said ” The endorsement followed a three-day series of intensive meetings attended by party executives, caucus leaders, former political office holders and other influential stakeholders from across the state”.
Speaking at the end of the meetings in Kano, former National Chairman of the APC and ex-Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, stated that ” the consultative sessions were convened to strengthen party unity and renew commitment to President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Ganduje explained that stakeholders deliberated on strategies to consolidate the party’s hold on Kano and ensure sweeping victories “from top to bottom” in the 2027 elections — including delivering an overwhelming win for President Tinubu in Kano and across the northern states.
“As we move towards 2027, there is a need for us to ensure complete unity in our party, from top to bottom,” Ganduje stated. “We must demonstrate solidarity for our party and support the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
He revealed that stakeholders jointly resolved that APC leaders in all wards and local governments would return to their constituencies to publicly proclaim Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
According to him, the meeting also mandated that all 484 ward offices and 44 local government party offices be made fully functional and accessible to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and attract new members.
Ganduje disclosed that discussions also covered the party’s forthcoming electronic membership registration, noting that computers had already been procured for the exercise. He said each ward and local government would provide trained personnel to manage the e-registration process.
“You may recall that during the last registration exercise, Kano produced the highest number of registered party members in the country. We are determined to maintain that position and even surpass previous records,” he added.
The former governor also urged eligible voters, especially young people who recently attained voting age, to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in line with ongoing nationwide voter registration.
Prominent attendees at the meetings included the 2023 APC governorship candidate, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, his running mate Murtala Sule Garo, and House of Representatives member Hon. Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, among other senior party figures.
The stakeholders affirmed their readiness to “fully mobilise” ahead of 2027, pledging unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu and the APC national leadership
