Kano ,Govt commences distribution of admission letters to SS1 students.

The Kano State Government has started distributing admission letters to students entering senior secondary schools in the state.
Making this known,during the flag-off ceremony held at Maryam Aloma Girls’ Secondary School, Kano, the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, said the exercise is part of government’s commitment to free and quality education and mobilizing community support.
According to him ” Kano State’s emergence as the top state in the 2025 NECO examinations was attributed to Governor’s prioritization policy of education sector.”
However,the Commissioner highlighted that several initiatives were introduced by the present administration of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf such as teacher recruitment, school renovation, and provision of teaching materials aimed at revamping the state education
He further registered his appreciation to the Governor who according to him remains always committed in providing whatever the ministry requested for the development of education in the state.
” I want to tell you that His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf is working tirelessly and that is why Kano Education Sector is moving at an accelerated speed by doing the needful.
” Take for example, in trying to address the shortage of mathematics teachers in some our senior secondary schools, the Governor has graciously approved the recruitment of new mathematics teachers who are going to be posted in to our various secondary schools statewide ” declared Makoda.
He further called on parents to complement government effort by ensuring that they send their children to schools to acquire better education.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board Alhaji Rabi’u Saleh Gwarzo noted that Kano had never topped NECO rankings until the present administration, attributing the accomplishment to the relentless devotion of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf to improving the educational standards in the state.
Alhaji Gwarzo however urged for greater cooperation and synergy between State Universal Basic Education Board, Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board and Kano Educational Resources Department to ensure successful and smooth transition of students from upper basic education to senior Secondary Schools.
Also speaking at the occasion,the State Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Alhaji Dahiru Salisu Mai jimiri commended the Commissioner for Education for his dedication and courageous attitudes towards transforming the education sector.
While , the state chairman Schools Based Management Committee (SBMC) Tijjani Haladu Baraya lauded the effort of the present administration in revitalizing the education sector, calling on parents and other civil society organizations to continue supporting the government to achieve quality education.
The programme is seen as a development that demonstrates the Kano State Government’s efforts to improve education in the state, building on recent achievements in NECO examinations.
It was attended by Zonal Directors, Directors and other senior officers from the ministry of education, Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board and State Universal Basic Education Board.
