Fighting bandits: Relocation of Defense ministers to Sokoto,a strategy that works positively–Elders Forum

The National Chairman of the Nigeria Elders Forum For Peace and Stability(NEFPS), Ambassador Bature AbdulAziz, has urged the military to sustain the high  tempo of fighting bandits in the country, saying the relocation of defence  ministers ,  Bello Matawale and
Abubakar Badaru,to Sokoto,has been yielding positive impact in fighting the act of banditries
Making the assertion on Tuesday,in Kano, when speaking with press , Ambassador AbdulAziz ,shortly after a meeting of the body said that
The Chairman Elders Forum, notes while talking to Media in Kano said that the fighting strategy of having the two defense Ministers closer to the scenes of the problems, has given ways for the decimating of the bandits kingpins.
According to him,”This  strategy was first adopted by the military in the previous government of former president  Muhammadu Buhari against the  Boko Haram and many of them were killed and no fewer than  200,000 of their fighters surrendered”.
He also explained that what the fighting troops needs now is serious walfare and the teeming masses supports ,through furnishing the security apparatus with useful informations to tame their dastardly actually
He however disclosed that” As an elders, we are strongly behind the Nation troops and indeed the Defense Ministers and the President,on their efforts to ensure peace in the country, and we assured you that we will not relent in our supports”.
He further appealed to the government and military to accept those bandits who are ready to surrender but with all their weapons, and ensure that they are taking to a de-radicalization centers to free them of their Barbaric thinking.
“Government should accept those Bandits who are ready to surrender their nefarious actions and maintain peace in the Country, but they should surrender with all their Weapons and submit themselves to the Military”, Dr AbdulAziz explained.
The Forum also commended President Tinubu for given his full supports to the Military and the entire Nigeria security operatives, assuring the government that with what they are doing,very soon Nigeria will enjoy peace.
