Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inaugurated a 14-member state judicial commission of inquiry to investigate the recent End Bad Governance protests that turned violent in the state.
However, governor Yusuf , who stated this on Monday during the inauguration disclosed that the
commission was established to fulfill his promise to the protesters, who had gathered at the Government House to express their grievances.
He then acknowledged their right to peaceful protest and invited them to present their demands to the President.
However, the protest was hijacked by hoodlums who destroyed properties worth billions of Naira, including the NCC digital building, courts, and files.
Gov Yusuf therefore urged the commission to identify the perpetrators and sponsors of the violence, which also saw the raising of Russian flags by some individuals.
Governor Yusuf assured the commission of a free hand and maximum support to carry out their duties diligently.
He also advised them to seek guidance from relevant stakeholders, including ulamas and prison authorities, to ensure a thorough investigation.
Accordong to him, the  commission’s findings will help the state government to take appropriate actions and prevent future occurrences of such violence.
Governor Yusuf then commended the members of the press for their good work in reporting the events.
