Aliko Dangote crowned CEO of the year

President/Chief Executive of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has been named the CEO) //of the year by one of Nigeria’s leading business magazines, Economic Confidential.

However,while presenting the award to Mr. Dangote on Tuesday in Abuja, Chairman of the Image Merchant Promotion Limited, parent body of Economic Confidential, Sule Yau Sule, said Mr.
Dangote’s contribution to job creation and economic development of Nigeria cannot be quantified.

According to him, Mr. Dangote is committed, and has an abiding fate in the Nigerian project.

He then added that the  honour accorded Mr. Dangote came amidst a plethora of awards received within and outside Nigeria.

He said that Dangote is one of the three Nigerians that were honoured at the event in Abuja. Others are: Vice President Kashim Shettima and Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service.

It will be recalled that early this year, Senegal had conferred on Mr. Dangote the National Order of the Lion.

The National Order of the Lion is the highest order of Senegal instituted to recognize civilians and military leaders for distinguished contributions.

Mr. Dangote’s conglomerate is considered one of Nigeria’s highest tax payers, and biggest employer of labour after government.he said

Mr. Dangote was represented by Mr. Jibrin Abubakar of the Branding and Corporate Communication Department.

It would be recalled that Mr. Dangote is the recipient of Nigeria’s second award, Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON)
