The Minister of First Baptist Church, Kano, Reverend (Dr.) Armstrong Ajayi, has called on residents of Oyo State and Nigerians at large to intensify prayers for the safe release of schoolchildren and teachers recently kidnapped in Orire Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking during Sunday service in Kano, Dr. Ajayi urged citizens not to lose faith in God despite the growing insecurity in parts of the country, stressing that divine intervention remains possible in every situation.

According to him, no human being is beyond God’s control, noting that the Almighty has the power to rescue those held in captivity.

He cited the biblical account of Peter’s imprisonment, saying that although Peter may have feared death in prison, the collective prayers of believers led to a miraculous intervention.

“When Peter was put into prison, he might have thought he would die there. But through the prayers of the church, God sent an angel who led him out of prison and made him a free man,” he said.

Dr. Ajayi also referenced the biblical story of the fall of the walls of Jericho, describing prayer and unwavering hope in God as powerful tools capable of overcoming seemingly impossible challenges.

The cleric offered prayers for the kidnapped pupils and their teachers, asking God to protect them and secure their release from captivity.

He further appealed to Nigerians to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could assist in tackling criminal activities and enhancing public safety.

The abduction of the schoolchildren and their teachers in Orire Local Government Area has generated concern among residents, with calls mounting for urgent efforts to ensure their safe return.
