The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 555 personnel across the state to ensure the safety of lives and property during the Christmas and New Year festivities.

The State Commandant, Sani Mustapha, disclosed this while confirming that the personnel have been deployed to worship centres and other strategic locations across the 14 local government areas of the state to guarantee peaceful celebrations.

According to him, security measures have been intensified to ensure a hitch-free Yuletide period, adding that the deployment is part of proactive steps by the Corps to prevent breaches of peace during the festive season.

Commandant Mustapha assured residents of the command’s consistency and professionalism, noting that NSCDC personnel would remain vigilant and committed throughout the Christmas and New Year celebrations to maintain peace and order.

He also urged worshippers and members of the public to be security-conscious and report any suspicious movements or persons to the nearest security agency for prompt action.

The commandant further reaffirmed that the NSCDC, under the leadership of the Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, OFR, mni, remains resolute in its mandate to safeguard the populace and protect critical national assets and infrastructure.

He reiterated the Corps’ commitment to working with other security agencies to ensure a peaceful and secure festive period for all residents of Zamfara State.
