Kano Special Advisers pass vote of confidence in Governor Yusuf

— Forum hails transformational reforms, Endorses second term bid

The Special Advisers Forum of Kano State has passed a vote of confidence in the Executive Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, commending his administration’s visionary leadership, accountability, and commitment to people-oriented governance.

This is just as the forum ,said going by the laudable friendly projects executed across every nook and crannies of the state,they will rally around him to achieve a second term bid comes 2027

Speaking during a press conference held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, Kano, the forum, led by its Chairman, Comrade Baffa Sani Gaya, described Governor Yusuf’s leadership as transformational and inclusive, with visible achievements across key sectors since he assumed office in May 2023.

According to the forum, the governor’s unwavering focus on good governance, fiscal prudence, education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure has restored public confidence in government institutions and placed Kano on the path of sustainable growth.

Highlighting the administration’s anti-corruption drive, the forum noted the successful implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA), blockage of financial leakages, and settlement of over ₦28 billion in outstanding gratuities and death benefits for retirees.

The government was also praised for ensuring the timely payment of salaries and pensions and improving internally generated revenue through automation and auditing.

The Special Advisers commended Governor Yusuf for declaring a state of emergency on education and allocating 29% and 31% of the state budget to the sector in his first two years—surpassing the UNESCO benchmark.

Key achievements include the recruitment of 3,866 teachers, confirmation of 5,634 BESDA facilitators to permanent positions, and the construction and renovation of classrooms across all 484 wards. The administration also disbursed ₦1.42 billion for registration fees of indigent
