  1. August 1,2025: Protest for Nigerians to demands for positive change of governance NPFM
    Kola Oyelere Kano
An association under the umbrella of the Nigeria Patriotic Front Movement(NPFM),has said that Nigerians should be prepare for August 1,2025, for a peaceful protest by the people to expressed their displeasure over myriad of challenges been faced since assumption of office of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’
Making this known while speaking with press in Kano, the  NPFM,
Comrade Abdulmajid Yakubu Daudu, said,”Come August 1, we will march across the nation to push our demands forward until the regime address them or be recalled by people’s power”
According to him,” Our  August 1, 2025 Peaceful March is as much to protest Bad Governance and Cost of Living Crisis, as it is to advance the Peoples Alternative Development Agenda”.
Daudu then recalled that “The president has not taken any concrete steps to address the issues raised by the masses last August 1. Instead he blamed the youth for challenging the high cost of living under his watch. And he doubled down on his harsh economic measures making it near impossible for most Nigerians to eke out a living.”
He stated that amongst these problems militating against the country are ,” Drastic reduction in cost of living : food inflation remain high, as general inflationary pressures are still double digits with no respite in sight. Official figures on this are hardly reliable”.
    Others he said include,” Steep
reduction in cost of fuel : the product is still unaffordable to the vast majority of the working and toiling people. This has negatively affected per capita labour productivity in the country, a matter that the government is not even addressing”

Freedom from debt slavery, domestic and foreign. The foreign component of the debt has increased exponentially to $46+ billion in 2025 since it was brought down to near zero by the Obasanjo administration (1999 to 2007). The Tinubu regime is following the joy of borrowing of its predecessor. No surprise: same party, same debt addiction. he said

The ruling party has swallowed up the Xerox opposition parties. They have together become the behemoth of Bad Governance in the country. The Mafia State is consolidating its tentacles. The ruling APC lives like a virus in the veins of the PDP, the Labour Party (LP) and the next dud opposition platform that the bourgeois clubs might register with the discredited INEC.

Where the ruling party deliberately infiltrates and disrupts the formal political opposition so that it will gain undue political advantage and impose a dominant party rule on the nation, democracy is effectively undermined. A dead letter.

The ruling party in this case is colonising the political space by disregarding the electoral act, abusing internal party democracy, tightening the civic space, and disrespecting the (spirit of the) 1999 Constitution (as amended). In other words, lawlessness has become the norm of the rulers. Power show is it.

With president Tinubu our life expectancy has declined. This is official. Even the World Health Organisation admits this, not just for Nigeria but other badly governed states across the globe as well.

All countries that have socially progressed on earth were built by patriots, not self serving politicians in power.

Come August 1, we will march across the nation to push our demands forward until the regime address them or be recalled by people’s power.

He then stated that” An end to the tolerance of grand corruption in public office. No double standards: Regime acolytes are free from prosecution, the disfavoured are not.

    – Deep cuts in the cost of governance (political office is not a business venture; pay politicians the same package as civil servants).

    – Re-nationalisation of the NNPC; electricity provision (generation, transmission, distribution); and telecom services (NITEL) for rapid industrialisation and national security in a fast changing local and multipolar environment.
