The Secretary General of the Students’ Government Union (SUG) at Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), Comrade Muhammad Bello Gambo, has led efforts to address delays in the disbursement of students’ allowances under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

Gambo, alongside a delegation of student leaders, visited the NELFUND headquarters in Abuja to formally lodge a complaint over the reported five-month delay in the payment of upkeep allowances to students of the institution.

Members of the delegation included the Speaker of the Student Parliament, Rt. Hon. Seri Peter, and the Financial Secretary, Comrade Usman El-Bichi. During the visit, the student representatives engaged NELFUND officials on the challenges faced by affected students.

NELFUND officials, who received the delegation, assured the students that the issue would be addressed and that all outstanding payments would be resolved as soon as possible.

The intervention by the SUG leadership has drawn commendation from students and the university community, with many describing the move as a proactive step toward safeguarding student welfare.

Observers within the institution noted that the engagement reflects growing advocacy by student leaders on issues affecting academic and living conditions on campus.
