A consortium of Civil Society organizations under an umbrella of the Centre for Security, Peace and Good Governance (CSPGG) has said that the continued delaying in the release of the appointment letters of 12 Nigerian River Basin Development Authorities (RBDAs) management teams ,  is a way of undermining the power of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’ who approved the appointees

However, this does not augur well for the polity,as it was been alleged that the delay is dangerous and some of those in acting capacities may allegedly involved in act detrimental to prudent to financial transparency, though this has yet to be be confirmed by the organization
Making this known in CPSGG in a press statement issued in Abuja said ” it will also be unfair and unjust for anybody to sit on the appointment letters ,which supposed to have been given out to respective people at this material time adding that whoever delaying the releasing the letters were also acting as a stumbling block to the nation’ s economy

The statement signed by the national coprdinator of the centre, Ahmed Yerima said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu knows reasons why he appointed those members to head various positions given to them and he believed they were capable to perform their duties effectively

According to Yerima ,most of these notable personnalities, from every ramifications had contributed immensely during President Tinubu” s 2023 campaigns, hence it would be unfair for anybody to be delaying releasing their appointment letters

He stated that these officials who were appointed on December 18, 2024 have spent over ten weeks waiting to formally assume their roles, so as to enable them contribute to the Renewed Hopes of President Tinubu’ s agenda

But it was worrisome, pathetic and saddened that these politicians of high calibers were been subjected to this kind of undue behavior and been denying to perform their roles given to them by Mr. President due to lack of appointment letters

Yerima recalled that many of these people had been travelled long distance from their respective states to inquire from the office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation ( SGF) in Abuja on why their letters of appointments were not released but they were not gotten favourable feedback

He emphasised that those hiding their appointment letters should not frustrated them , because very soon they will still needed their service during the 2027 general election

He alleges that a source told him that the delaying was alleged to be handiwork of a certain organisation (name withheld) however called on the authority concerned not to be tele-guided for their selfish agendas

He therefore added that politics should not be tied to the views of a certain profession but must based on competency to delivered by those appointed to head such an organization

CPSGG also mentioned that some politicians wanted to hijacked the appointment and gave it out to their cronies who he said were not real politicians, a situation he described very dangerous
