President Bola Tinubu, has approved Hundreds Billions of Naira for the expansion of 12 River Basin’s projects across Nigeria in an effort to tackle hunger and starvation as well as enhancing food security.
The Director Finance Hadejia Jama’are River Basin, Alhaji ( Dr)Musa Ilyasu Kwankwaso,made this known in a statement signed in Kano on Saturday, said that President Tinubu commitment to the Northern Development is no longer a hiding agenda through agricultural development is no longer a news.
According to him, “The approval for the expansion of the River Basin’s would ginger off food production and arrest hunger and starvation across the country.
The Director Finance however commended the House of Representatives Committee Chairman of Appropriation, Alhaji Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, for the role play in ensuring that the budget for the revitalization of the River Basin’s are approved.
The position of the House of Representatives Appropriation Committee Chairman, Bichi on the budget approval clearly shows that he is standing with President Tinubu and together they would reclaim power in 2027.he said
Kwankwaso stated that the realization of the River Basin’s would amplified Irrigation Farming and also make Nigeria dependent on Food Production.
His words” We extend our heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary’s leadership in also allocating 150 billion Naira in the 2025 Appropriation bill for the construction of a railway line in Kano City,”
He said that the project is expected to revolutionize transportation, enhance connectivity, facilitate trade, and boost economic growth in the city.
Kwankwaso also said that the railway line would improve the quality of life of residents of Kano and position the city as a hub for commerce and industry.
“President Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated a clear focus on infrastructure development, evident in the 2025 budget’s emphasis on revitalizing hospitals and investing in healthcare infrastructure.
“We acknowledge President Tinubu’s efforts to stimulate economic recovery and growth, as reflected in the 2025 budget’s projections, including another allocation of Billions of Naira for the revitalization of over 12 Dams for Irrigation farming.he said
He said the irrigation farming revitalization would lead to the much desired Food Security for the Country that would make Nigerians becomes Food sufficient.
